Victoria Kelly
Composer, New Zealand
Victoria Kelly is a composer and musician, working across a spectrum of genres and media in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Her work has been commissioned, performed and recorded by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, Voices New Zealand, the New Zealand String Quartet and NZTrio, among others.
She collaborates with a range of artists including Neil Finn, Tami Neilson, Don McGlashan, SJD, and Finn Andrews / The Veils.
She has composed music for several film, television and theatre productions, lectured and consulted throughout the country. She served as the Director of NZ Member Services at APRA AMCOS for seven years. She won an APRA Silver Scroll for the best original music in a feature film for her score for Field Punishment No. 1.
As well as being our 2026 guest composer, Victoria is currently Orchestra Wellington‘s Composer in Residence for 2025 / 2026. In 2025 this included performances of Requiem and Black Sheep (live with the movie) and she is working on an opera called Ocean inspired by a trip to Antarctica. Excerpts will be performed by Orchestra Wellington in 2026.
